Estimated and forecasted 24-hourly rainfall
Data provided by the United States
Geological Survey USGS and subject to availability.
NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric
Administration ) data provides estimates of actual rainfall based on satellite
imagery, corrected with readings from gauging stations of the GTS network.
MM5 (Fifth Generation Mesoscale Model
operated by the US Air
Force) gives three, 24-hourly
forecasts of rainfall for consecutive
days.
The convention used on this web page is:
MM5 +0 : Forecast for the indicated
date, made on the indicated date
MM5 +1 : Forecast for one day later then the indicated date, made on the
indicated date
MM5 +2 : Forecast for two days later then the indicated date, made on the
indicated date
Example:
19-Sep-2001 +0 are the
forecasts for 19 September, made on 19 September
19-Sep-2001 +1 are the forecasts for one day later,
20 September, made on 19 September
19-Sep-2001 +2 are the forecasts for two days later, 21 September,
