Guidelines for use of telemetry data
This information is supplied as a service to the governments of the MRC Member States so that it may be used as a tool within existing national disaster forecast and warning systems. The AHNIP (Appropriate Hydrological Network Improvement Project) network is managed by the IKMP (Integrated Knowledge Management Programme) of the Technical Support Division of the MRC. Any requests for information or remarks on AHNIP or the data should be addressed to the Senior Hydrologist:
The data from AHNIP stations will be provided on a 3 hourly basis by the member countries for a period from 1st August to 30th September each flood season, with the first transmission after 7 am. During working days the data are updated 4 times (after the 7am, 10am, 1pm and 4pm transmissions). During weekend and holidays the 4pm transmission is not available.
The AHNIP data are checked daily after the morning transmission, to ensure that obvious errors are removed or corrected. As the webpage is updated automatically during the day, all data after 7am are unchecked and should be carefully verified before use. AHNIP telemetry data are provided as operational data, and the MRC is not responsible for any consequences resulting from the use of this information. For further details see the disclaimer.
The data series available here are for two weeks only. For longer data series please contact the Senior Hydrologist at IKMP: firstname.lastname@example.org.
